ORIGIN-DESTINATION SURVEY

Transportation planning is crucial to providing routes and services people really need. Reliable data is essential to good planning. A new Origin-Destination survey will be held this fall and gather exactly that: extensive, up-to-date information on current daily trip patterns of area residents.

The Origin-Destination survey will be conducted through voluntary phone interviews, between September 19 and December 10. During this 12-week period, professional interviewers will talk to 25,000 randomly selected households throughout the National Capital Region.

If you receive a call you will see the words Origin-Destination in the telephone call display. You will be asked where all household members travelled in the course of the previous day, why and when they went, and how they got there.

Please participate. It will only take 10 minutes of your time, but the information you provide will be used by planners for years to come.

Confidentiality and long-term security of the data collected during the survey is guaranteed. For more detailed information, check out the Frequently Asked Questions or phone 613-688-5050.
